Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, Julie is a lifelong Illini fan and still roots for the Chicago Cubs. Julie graduated from the University of Illinois, earning a B.S. in Communications/Marketing and Advertising. She is a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. After working in advertising in Los Angeles and Chicago, Julie felt God calling her into full time ministry. In 1987 she joined the Visalia-based Celebrant Singers, where she met her husband, Rodney. They were married in 1990 and have two beautiful girls, Megan, a high school student at Redwood and Lindsey, a student at Green Acres Middle School. Her extended family includes Lory and Nancy Bennetts, who became second parents to her when she moved here to join Celebrants.

While at Celebrants, Julie coordinated the annual Homecoming concerts and banquets. She served as Partner Relations/Communications Director for 10 years. After Lindsey was born, Julie worked from home and built her own successful direct sales business with PartyLite. In 2005 she became the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent at Visalia Christian Schools. One of her most memorable experiences in Visalia was serving on the Franklin Graham Crusade Executive Committee as Executive Secretary. Being able to sit on the stage as Franklin preached on the final evening of the crusade is still a highlight of her life.

In her spare time, Julie enjoys community involvement, currently serving as Rewood High School volleyball booster club Treasurer and Green Acres Little Theater Foundation Vice President. She also enjoys spending time with family, sports, and reading.
