Karl is a native of California, born in Sacramento and subsequently living in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and now Visalia. Thanks to Karl’s family, faith in Jesus Christ has been a priority throughout his life. He has worshiped and served in Southern Baptist, Evangelical Covenant and Presbyterian churches throughout the state and been enriched by these diverse experiences. Yet, Karl has found God’s call in the Presbyterian Church.

After earning a B.A. in Religious Studies and History from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Karl enjoyed five years as a professional graphic designer. During this time, God clarified his call, gave him a specific passion for pastoral ministry and blessed him with marriage to his wife, Kimberly. Together, Karl and Kimberly moved to Azusa, CA, where Karl attended Fuller Theological Seminar and received a Master’s of Divinity degree which emphasized Christian Formation and Discipleship. He then served at Glenkirk Presbyterian Church in Glendora, CA, for one year as a Pastoral Assistant.

Karl and Kimberly came to First Pres Visalia in 2006. They enjoy hosting friends and family, cycling, walking, gardening and cooking together.
